Who is to blame in the Crucible?

She mainly is to blame because she started the whole thing. It all began with her affair with Proctor, and everything went downhill from there. She coaxed about five or six of the neighborhood girls to join her in convicting criminals of being witches. Her original goal was to kill Goody Proctor so that Proctor himself would come crawling back to her. And then she fled with Marcy when Proctor was said to be hanged.
