I don't get the live feeds and never have but based on spoilers I read they use music and the fishies when they're doing a competition, when the HGs start to sing, and when the HGs are waking up. That probably doesn't really answer your question, but no clue why they'd cut away from the conversation if it's just general chatter, unless they start talking about the results of a competition or something. If it's talk about competitions or diary room sessions, then yeah, they do their best to keep those secret until the shows.
